At the beginning was our vision. We wanted to make a contribution to the economic development of the Germersheim district; to further strengthen an already strong location, through a new form of cooperation between the public authorities and business.

This vision became reality in the year 2000. The Industriepark Wörth (Wörth industrial park) (ipw) was set up on the grounds of Mercedes-Benz Wörth Plant. The administrative district of Germesheim holds 100% of the shares in the company ipw GmbH.

The main aim was to secure existing jobs and create even more, not only within the automotive group itself, but also for all the medium-sized companies in the region; thus embracing social-political responsibility within the globalisation process. The workflows within the Wörth industrial park have long been part of a core process within the truck assembly plant in Wörth.
